The Separation Science and Metabolomics Laboratory (SSML) is located on Murdoch University’s South Street Campus. As a core facility, the SSML represents a major investment in metabolomics with a focus on ultra-high resolution analysis in food safety and monitoring, plant and environmental metabolomics, clinical as well as biomedical research.
The SSML has a complementary range of separation and detection capabilities and is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA) in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 for chemical testing (Facility no. 18537).

The University of Western Australia Centre of Metabolomics, ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology, and the University’s School of Chemistry and Biochemistry draw upon wide-ranging resident expertise in mass spectrometry, chemistry, metabolism and informatics to provide a comprehensive analytical and data interpretation service for all areas of the life sciences including plant, microbial, environmental and biomedical research.
